Weddings are booked hourly, and there is a reason
Wedding days do not run to schedule. Photographs overrun, the ceremony starts late, somebody's dress needs twenty minutes nobody planned for. A car booked for a specific journey at a specific time is the wrong instrument for that day.
Hourly booking means the vehicle is simply there for the period, and the schedule can move without anybody renegotiating transport. On the one day of the year where that matters most, it is worth the difference.
Most wedding bookings run six to ten hours. We build the schedule backwards from the ceremony time rather than forwards from the pickup, which is how you find the problems before the day rather than during it.
The three jobs a wedding fleet actually does
The bridal car is the visible one — the vehicle in the photographs, and the quiet twenty minutes before the ceremony that a lot of couples say afterwards was the calmest part of the day.
Guest transport is the one that determines whether the day runs on time. Moving forty guests between a ceremony and a reception is a Sprinter operation, and doing it in one coordinated movement rather than letting people find their own way is the difference between a reception starting at seven and at half past.
The getaway car is the easy one to forget and the one nobody wants to be arranging at midnight. Book it with everything else.
One point of contact on the day
Where a wedding needs several vehicles, they run under a single reservation with one dispatcher who has the full schedule. Nobody in the wedding party should be coordinating four drivers by text.
We ask for a day-of contact who is not the couple — a planner, a sibling, a best friend — and everything routes through them. On the day itself the couple should not be answering questions about transport.
Chauffeurs on wedding work arrive early as standard. The cost of being late to a wedding is not comparable to being late to anything else we do.
Practical things worth deciding early
Whether the bridal car needs to accommodate a full gown. This sounds obvious and is the single most common oversight — some dresses genuinely need an SUV rather than a sedan, and it is much better to establish that in advance.
Whether guests are being moved in one shuttle or several waves, which determines vehicle count and the schedule entirely.
Whether anybody in the party needs a child seat, which has to be requested at booking so the seat is fitted before the vehicle leaves.
Gratuity: it is included in our rates, though an additional $50 to $100 per chauffeur for a full wedding day is customary and many couples hand it over in advance so it is not something to think about on the day.
